A Love Affair with Fountains

Ever since Juliette was a baby, she has loved fountains. At 16 months, she began commuting with me downtown. By the time she was 18 months, she would point and squeal "FOUNTAIN" whenever she saw one. When she was two and I would be traveling for work, her first news of the day to me was always "Fountains turned on, or Fountains shut off".

For this month's photo adventure, we took advantage of the picture perfect July morning we had today to go down and spend some time with one of our favorite outdoor icons.

Once we began, we realized this morning's trip only scratched the surface. Please expect that there will be another fountain adventure in the future.

Also, Jennifer is thinking of starting a new "school" of artistic interpretation "The finger frame". You will notice Juliette is a serious student of the finger frame school in the first few photographs (which have been cropped, even!)

Enjoy!

This is a beautiful fountain and garden that is often overlooked by tourists on their way from the Castle to Air & Space.

This is Jennifer's favorite shot that Juliette took all morning!

The subject was not thrilled to be standing on the ledge for this picture.

Places in Between

Here are some random shots, added at the halfway point to let you know we had some fun beyond just taking pictures.

What was that? You think she's bribing me with the gelato???

I never thought of it that way! And here, I thought the gelato was just a bonus!

This seems like a good place for a performance.

Not only did we take photographs, we threw pennies in every fountain where they were permitted.
