The Cathedral

Juliette and I headed to National Cathedral this morning, as she has been studying stained glass in school and I had recently had an excellent behind-the-scenes tour sans camera and was itching to go back!

While there have been some unpublished photo adventures, this was our first chance to get some new pictures in a long time.
Are you ready?

Rose Window - Creation

Getting good shots inside the Cathedral requires an EXCELLENT camera and tripod.
Have patience with our shots. We worked hard to get some good ones!!

Lincoln

There is a small area honoring Lincoln to your right immediately as you enter from the back. Washington is on the other side.

Second Tier Windows

Above is the rose of Sharon.

This is the one with a stone from the moon incorporated into the circle.

Same window at different times.

Third Tier Windows

At National Cathedral, there are three levels of stained glass on each side, you can see two of them in this shot. Each window (the larger composite of windows actually) is commissioned to a separate artist, each depicts a diferent scene or theme from the Bible.
