Frogs!

This trip, we went to the National Geographic Explorer's hall where they are having a fantastic exhibit on Frogs and Toads. All toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads. We learned frogs eat their skin (gross) and also absorb water through their skin - they don't drink. They eat a wide variety of things, and some frogs can jump as far as ten feet. This being National Geographic, there was also an amazing exhibit of photographs of frogs, including a spider eating a frog. Don't worry, we skipped sharing that one with you!

Juliette jumps as far as a bullfrog (about 3 feet)

Do you see Juliette in this picture?

Teal Frog

We were both mesmerized by this frog's beautiful color and markings--

It is found in Northern Vietnam.

South Asian & South American Frogs & Toads

The above toad can grow to 9 inches long and eat snakes, mice, and other toads.

The picture looks blue, but the frog was actually a beautiful cream and black stripe similar to a zebra.

Poison Tree Frogs

They move quickly!

This is a way easier shot...

Of Course, we ended with Ice Cream
